Emmanuel Petit, the renowned Arsenal legend, has advised striker Folarin Balogun to consider leaving the Gunners during this summer transfer window. Petit believes that such a move would be in the best interest of both Balogun and the North London club.
Balogun has attracted interest from clubs like Inter Milan and various Premier League teams following an impressive loan spell at Reims. However, Petit believes that it is crucial for the young USA international to make a fresh start, especially with Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus having recently extended their contracts with Mikel Arteta’s side.
During an interview with DAZN Bet, Petit expressed his thoughts on Balogun’s situation, stating, “He has performed exceptionally well here in France, and I know he could be a valuable option. However, I have been advocating for a clean break for several months now. Arsenal has recently secured a long-term contract with Eddie Nketiah, and Gabriel Jesus seamlessly fits into Mikel Arteta’s tactical plans. Therefore, it is necessary for Arsenal to acquire either another striker or someone who can provide versatility in a wider role.”
