Tinubu will give the Senate his list of ministers in 48 hours – Bamidele

Senate Leader, Micheal Opeyemi Bamidele, has exciting news for Nigerians eagerly awaiting the ministerial list. During his 60th birthday anniversary lecture and book presentation in Abuja, Bamidele announced that the much-anticipated ministerial list is set to be received by the Senate within the next 48 hours.

The revelation came when President Bola Tinubu personally contacted Bamidele to convey the information and extend birthday wishes. President Tinubu expressed regret for being unable to attend the birthday lecture due to pressing matters that required him to submit the communication containing the ministerial list to the Senate promptly.

This ministerial list is expected to contain the names of individuals nominated for key government positions. The Senate and the nation await the disclosure of these nominees, as it will shape the course of governance.

During the same lecture, Prof. Toyin Ogundipe, the former Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, emphasized the need for political office holders to demonstrate empathy towards the Nigerian people amid challenging times. He specifically called on leaders to reduce the number of vehicles in their convoys, advocating for a display of solidarity with the citizens.

Prof. Ogundipe opined that agencies such as the Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO) and the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) should not be part of the entourage of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, as long as police presence is sufficient.

According to Ogundipe: “Our leaders should reduce the number of vehicles in their convoys to show that they understand the people’s struggles. There is no need for VIO and FRSC to be in the President and Vice President’s entourage if they already have police escorts.”

This call for empathy and responsible leadership resonates with the current challenges faced by the Nigerian populace. As the nation anticipates the ministerial list, the plea for mindful governance echoes the desire for positive change and progress.
