Chief Edozie Njoku has once again been recognized by the Supreme Court as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
The ruling was announced by the supreme court on Friday in response to a plea by Chief Njoku, who asked for the regularization of Justice Mary Peter Odili’s revised decision from May 9, 2022.
The Supreme Court had written to Njoku on January 19, 2023, addressing him as the National Chairman of APGA and advising him to approach the Court by way of a move to remedy the error. This led to Njoku’s motion.
The Jigawa High Court incorrectly removed Njoku as the National Chairman of the APGA in Suit No. JDU/022/2021 between Alhaji Garba Aliyu and Chief Jude Okeke & 2 Ors due to an inadvertent error, which the Supreme Court remedied.
Judge Garba Lawal ruled in a lead decision that Chief Edozie Njoku was improperly removed from Jigawa without being included as a party.
Judge Lawal then concluded that Njoku’s plea was meritorious and granted it as requested.
In response to the ruling, Chief Njoku urged Charles Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, to be ready for a roundtable conversation on the party’s future.
Njoku pledged to do all in his power as APGA Chairman to maintain harmony and peace within the organization.
