Women in the APC’s NEC and zonal leaders oppose it Edu Betta
In what appears to be an escalating crisis, the elected female officials of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and zonal women leaders have expressed their discontent with the leadership of Betta Edu, the party’s National Women Leader.
This information came to light on Saturday through a letter addressed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, written by Hon. Omorede Osifo, the APC Deputy National Treasurer, and eight other women leaders.
It is worth noting that Edu and APC leaders had recently visited Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.
However, the women executives and zonal leaders elected by the APC have unanimously passed a vote of no confidence in Edu and distanced themselves from her recent visit to the President.
They have accused Edu of misrepresentation and self-serving behavior during her visit to the Presidential Villa.
Consequently, they have emphasized that Edu does not represent the elected National Women Officials and Zonal Women Leaders of the party, contrary to reports circulating in the media.
They have asserted that many of the women showcased during the visit were fraudulent and not legitimately elected national officers, including National Executive Council Members, Zonal Women Leaders, three women senators, 15 female House of Representatives members, and other relevant women leaders and stakeholders.
The concerned female leaders have pleaded with Tinubu for an audience to address and listen to their grievances.
