5 men were set ablaze in Onitsha for reportedly attempting to steal a tricycle

Five guys were burned alive in the commercial hub of Onitsha, Anambra State after they allegedly tried to rob a tricycle driver of his vehicle.

The unattractive event happened on March 25, 2023, near old Nkpor Road in Onitsha, close to the People’s Club headquarters.

An eyewitness said that the suspects tried to take a tricycle from the owner in broad daylight but were unsuccessful and were caught by the enraged masses.

Videos of the situation that were graphic went popular on social media.

In one of the recordings, a suspect could be heard screaming “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus” as he begged for assistance.
