FEC: Tinubu cautions government official, “Unless I sent for you, don’t come.”
Government employees and their families have received a warning from President Bola Tinubu not to attend the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting unless invited.
Prior to the FEC meeting starting on Monday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu issued the warning.
“I saw someone entering and leaving this Council covertly last week. This site was accessible to people when they shouldn’t have been. That is not going to happen.
“Those who are expected to be here will be announced to you here.
“Special Advisor on Policy Coordination Hadiza Usman, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, principal private secretary; Damilotun Aderemi, private secretary; and Bayo Onanuga, special adviser on information and strategy.
“These are the individuals who have been given permission to be present when we are carrying out national business. Don’t come until I sent for you.
The President gave notice of his direction to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, SGF, and the Head of the Federation’s Civil Service, HCSF, Folashade Yemi-Esan.
“No one should be allowed to attend the FEC meeting unless they are members of your staff, and I have already informed you of their identities.
He went on, “Let me also add that event planning involving the government needs to be clearly stated and adhered to.”
