Warri Refinery fire outbreak is confirmed by NNPL
A small fire outbreak was reported at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited’s refinery in Warri Delta State.
The outbreak, according to a statement released by the firm on Friday, was brought on by continuing welding at the cooling tower’s top.
The Warri Refinery and Petrochemical firm Limited (WRPC) cooling tower experienced a minor fire incident this afternoon at around 15:02 hrs., according to the firm.
“The delivery timetable for the refinery rehabilitation project will not be impacted by the fire that broke out as a consequence of continuous welding operations at the top of the cooling tower.
At around 15:30, NNPC Limited safety personnel at the refinery moved quickly to put out the fire; since then, normality has been restored.
The NNPC continued by saying that it will uphold the highest safety standards across all of its commercial endeavors.
