Buhari is an Igbo man – Iwuanyanwu
President Muhammadu Buhari is an Igbo man and a member of the socio-cultural organization, according to Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the president-general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
Thurs.’s flag-off ceremony for the dredging of the Oguta Lake-Orashi River in Imo State featured remarks from Iwuanyanwu.
Before leaving office on May 29, he urged Buhari to make sure the project is a success.
The Ohanaeze President-General praised Buhari for ensuring the start and completion of some projects in the Southeast.
Iwuanyanwu asserts: “Things were not joyful when he entered power, but now that we are leaving, things have changed. The Niger Bridge in Onitsha is finished, as far as I can tell. I can see that most states have made significant progress. Like in Ebonyi, the Federal Government has taken over the teaching hospital and the airport. Many things have been done for us here in Imo State, and in Enugu as well.
“So, please tell Buhari that we are thankful and that we want him to know that he is an Igbo guy and that he is our son; he has received honors from various Igbo states like Ebonyi and Imo. Help us inform Buhari that he is an Igbo son and a member of Ohanaeze Ndigbo by honor bestowed to him. Chieftaincy is regarded extremely seriously in Igboland.
The initiative is crucial to the whole Igbo people, therefore everything he can do to assure its success before he departs will be welcomed.
