Shettima Criticizes Opponents of Tinubu’s FAAN, CBN Relocation
Sen. Kashim Shettima, the vice president, has made fun of people who disagree with the Bola Tinubu administration’s plan to move the offices of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from Abuja to Lagos.
According to the Vice President, the action is in the best interests of most Nigerians.
Shettima made this statement on Saturday as a Special Guest of Honor at the 10th Annual Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Lecture, which was held in Maiduguri, Borno State. Shettima was represented by his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed.
“Building Pathways for Peace: Combating Banditry and Insurgency through Good Governance for Sustainable Development in Nigeria” was the event’s theme.
The Vice President stated, “I want to reassure the people of the North that the move is for the interest of the majority of Nigerians. Recently, there were those opposing the federal government’s decision over planned relocation of some departments and units of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from Abuja to Lagos.
He declared that no policy or decision made by the present government will be sectional or detrimental to a particular region of the country.
Shettima declared, “Those who are against the relocation of some departments should stop, or else they are causing trouble.”
