New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has responded to reports that he is considering running for office in 2023 and joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.

He stated it would take time to determine whether or not he could join the current administration.

“Time will tell on the matter of joining the government,” the former governor of Kano State said to BBC Hausa on Friday.

In response to claims that he had a deal with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu before to the Supreme Court ruling upholding Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s election, he made the statement.

Remember that the supreme court announced on Friday that Yusuf of the NNPP had won the March 11 governor’s race in Kano State, defying the decision of the Appeal Court, which had dismissed the governor.

There have been rumors that the party’s national head, Kwankwaso, had a deal with Tinubu before the Supreme Court’s ruling.

However, Kwankwaso insisted to BBC Hausa that there was no agreement with anybody and that the justices of the Supreme Court just followed the law.

“To the best of my knowledge, I have not reached an agreement with anybody,” declared Kwankwaso.

Together, we created the APC, and we actively took part in the ensuing conflicts. It should be known to all that a falsehood is fleeting. The judges have made the correct decision in spite of the schemes that individuals pulled out.

But he said that when needed, the NNPP will cooperate with the ruling party’s administration.

“There isn’t an issue. We have our party, they have theirs. We will collaborate as needed.
