Governor of Jigawa State Muhammad Badaru Abubakar expressed sorrow for mingling with adversaries who had bad intentions for the state.

When he met Alhaji Isa Ahmad Gerawa, the chairman of the Gerawa firm and a leading member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, he said as much.

We reported that after being detained by the police, the former state chairman of the APC, Habibu Sani Sara, and Habu Karami Jahun was remanded in custody by the Jigawa State Magistrate Court in Dutse.

They were taken into custody, charged with slandering Badaru’s reputation, and appeared in court after being detained and arrested.

“It is regrettable that some of my trusted political allies and frontline APC members have been spreading lies against me and some party leaders to create confusion and crisis in the party to serve their own interests,” said Governor Badaru.

“It is unfortunate that we have been closing doors with our adversaries even if we were unaware that they did not share our viewpoint.

“Many of those negative elements were motivated by envy of other people’s advancement and our government’s accomplishments.

“They have been disseminating false information about me, which has caused misunderstandings with some of our party’s leaders and government representatives.

“I praise God because He revealed all those evil characters and their malicious deeds.

By God’s grace, the APC family is still together, we have won the election, and we will continue to work toward the advancement of our party, Jigawa State, and Nigeria.

According to Gerawa, the visit is to reaffirm his commitment to the departing governor.

He claimed, “Most of the crises and misunderstanding between us could not have been managed if not for Governor Badaru’s goodwill.

“As time passed, we all came to understand the hypocrites who wanted to see the APC in shambles because they thought that if our party was united and had Badaru as its head, their ulterior objective and self-interest could not be realized.

All of these hypocritical individuals are no longer important to the party; we have politically buried them, and they will not emerge in Jigawa politics. Today, we have forgiven Governor Badaru, and we really hope that he will also forgive us.

Gerawa pointed out that the party has declared war on any hypocrite attempting to instigate a crisis inside the organization.
