Pay $84 a year for Twitter Blue by April 1 or lose the checkmark – Twitter
Twitter has given hints that the free blue “verified” checkmarks for well-known users may eventually come to an end.
Elon Musk’s influence over the business has undergone significant changes; he has hinted at deleting the “legacy” checkmarks that verified the identity of users like public figures, businesses, media outlets, celebrities, and other prominent tweeters.
Musk may now take action: The business tweeted on Thursday that “we will start winding down our historical verified program and remove old verified checkmarks.”
Anyone can join up for Twitter Blue, according to the business, “to maintain their blue checkmark on Twitter.”
Late last year, Musk unveiled Twitter Blue, a membership service that charges users either $84 a year or $8 a month.
